Jane E. Brewington, Hartly, Delaware, was quietly called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long illness in the early morning of May 27, 2019. She was born November 15, 1946 in Millsboro, Delaware to the late Fredrick and Elizabeth (Savage) Adams.
Jane was educated in the Georgetown School System. She completed high school at William C. Jason High School. Jane married Wayne L. Brewington Sr, on June 15, 1968. They celebrated almost 51 years of marriage. To this union three children were born, Nanette (Faye) Brewington Harris, Wayne L. Brewington, Jr, and Steven J. Brewington. She was preceded in death by Faye and Wayne Jr. She was a beloved wife, mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.
She worked at International Playtex, in Dover, Delaware for seven years. She was then employed by Kraft-Heinz Foods, Inc, also in Dover, for thirty years. She retired from Kraft in December 2005.
Jane enjoyed traveling, socializing with friends, and trying her luck at various area casinos. She especially enjoyed cooking and enjoying good food with family and friends.
Jane leaves to cherish her memory her husband Wayne Brewington, Sr; her son Steven Brewington, Hartley DE; adopted son Fred McKoy Jr (Roshelle) of Clinton, MD: five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother Richard Adams (Barbara), of London, England; four sisters, Elizabeth LeCompte, Wilmington, DE; Alice Harmon, Virginia Beach, VA; Lorraine Bechman, Sacramento, CA; Valerie Poppel (Gerhard), Dagsboro, DE; two brother’s -in-law Stanley Higgins Jr, Philadelphia, PA and Terry Higgins, Portland, OR; five sister’s -in-law: Rita Higgins, Coatesville, PA; Karen Higgins (John), New Castle, DE; Christine Higgins and Estella Hines, Wilmington DE; and Jacquline Ashford (Michael) of Newark, DE; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
A funeral service will be Noon Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
