Jacob Kramer, Sr. Obituary

Jacob R. Kramer, Sr., age 77, of Thurman, Ohio passed from life on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born March 19, 1941 in Middlefield, Ohio. Jake lived a storied life, born into an Amish family and entering military service as a medic in the 11th Air Assault at 18 years of age. As a young man he enjoyed playing guitar in a band and riding his Harley Davidson 1100 motorcycle with friends. Flying airplanes, hunting, and fishing were among the many hobbies he took great pleasure in. He was at different times throughout his life a carpenter, a mason, a farmer, a welding shop foreman, and a pole building contractor. One of the joys of his life in his later years was going on mission trips to Africa, Romania, and Haiti, working on construction projects.

Jake went to his reward in the early morning hours. He went peacefully, with his children at his side. His last days were filled with the love of his children and grandkids and love for each other characterized the time our family spent together at his bedside. Relationships were healed, family ties strengthened, and a bright future ensured for all of us. It wasn't always as easy for Jake to express his sentiments as some but his love always showed through in his deeds, and it was a strong love that carries on in us, his children and grandchildren. We are thankful to have had him as our father and grandfather. He has gone to his reward, and it is a good reward.

He is survived by his children; Robert Kramer, William Kramer, Joseph  Kramer,  Charity Roberts, Faith Mason, Hope Davis, Melody Japanoski, and Grace Brubaker. His grandchildren; Brittany Kramer, Megan Kramer, Brandon Kramer, Balian Kramer, Joseph Kramer, Jr., Elizabeth Kramer, Jessica Roberts, Cody Roberts, Scott Mason, Amanda Mason, Indiana Davis, Damien Davis, Daphne Davis, Skylar Japinoski, Samantha Brubacker, Drew Brubacker, and Josephine Brubacker. His sisters, Mary Ellen Miller and Lydia Ann Pritchett and his brother Daniel Kramer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Fern Kramer and his sisters, Sarah Ann and Barbara. He will be laid to rest at the side of the mother of his children, his wife of many years, Fannie Mae Kramer.
