Chief Petty Officer Jackie “Jack” Ray Lynch died peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on May 1, 2018. A veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars, he served his country with distinction and honor in the United States Navy for 20 years until he retired. He was a loving husband, a great father and an awesome grandfather.
He loved the Bible and enjoyed writing personal commentaries about all that he learned from scripture. He also enjoyed shooting targets on the family farmland, mowing the lawn on his tractor, taking his dog for car rides to Hardee’s to get them both burgers, playing pass the Ace with the whole family around the dining room table and especially going on doughnut and ice cream runs with his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughters Carol and Wanda, his son Earnest; his seven grandkids; Jeremy, Ethan, Emma, Lilly, Aiden, Eliza and Faith, his sons-in-law Eric Schneider and Douglas Pollock, daughter-in-law Patricia Herron Lynch and brother Dwight Lynch. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan; his daughter Laura, his father Delbert Lynch and mother Wanda Robertson Lynch, and his brother Jim. He will be greatly missed by family and fiends, but he has left us all with a legacy of hope brought about through faith in the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming. Burial with full military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Chapel, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Trinity Church of Smyrna Building Fund, P.O. Box 370, Smyrna, DE 19977.
