Guy E. Kowalchick, Jr., of Magnolia, passed away suddenly, Saturday, September 29, 2018, in his home. He was 46 .
Guy was born March 15, 1972, in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan. After finishing high school, he entered the United States Army, before receiving a medical discharge, during basic training. Guy worked as the retail sales manager for Rent-A-Center for many years, before becoming disabled. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, racing cars, and watching his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his nephew, Erik Dylyn Rea, and his niece, Kylyn Denise Rea.
Guy is survived by his wife, Allison(Lutz) Kowalchick; 4 children, Guy E. “Gene” Kowalchick, III, of Dover; Oliva Alexandria Kowalchick & companion, Tom Deptula, of Lewes; Samuel H. Kowalchick, and Sophia A.K. Kowalchick; his granddaughter, Oliva Deptula; his parents, Guy & Pam(Gibson) Kowalchick, of Felton; his sisters, Windy Renea Thomson & husband, Brian, of Greenwood; Tommie Polite & husband, Aaron, of Greenwood; Christina M. Keith & husband, Donny; and Jami Ruth Rea & husband, Jason, both of Harrington; his nieces & nephews, Destiny & Brian Thomson, Jr.; Joie Polite; Micala Spence & Kyle; Erin & Brandon Polite; Christina Redden & Cory; Michael, Lillian, & Rodney Nickles, Jr.; Jason Rea, Jr., A.J. Sniadowski, Madison, Jack, & Emma Tibbett; Madeline, Zoe, and Owen Reim; his great-niece, Ava Spence; his in-laws, Judy & Howard F. Lutz, Jr.; his former wife & her husband, Oliva & Clint Tarkington; and several aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 4, 2018, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE; with a gathering from 1-2 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Caesar Rodney J.R.O.T.C. Program or to the Caesar Rodney Cheerleading Program at Caesar Rodney High School, 239 Old North Road, Camden, DE 19934.
