Gerry B. Gerstenberg of Newark, DE passed away January 25, 2017. Gerry was born January 26, 1930 in Wilmigton, DE the daughter of Henry & Mary Gerstenberg.
Gerry worked several dedicated years for the State of Delaware and retired as an auditor for the State Highway Department. She was a warmhearted and considerate lady whose life revolved around a love of computers. She graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in Elementary Education with High Honors and obtained her MBA from the University of Southern Illinois at Edwardsville. She served as an officer and member in several computer clubs including the Deerfield Beach Computer Club. She enjoyed volunteering for many causes including the American Red Cross. She resided in Pompano Beach, FL for eighteen years until recently returning to Delaware.
Ms. Gerstenberg is survived by her children Maureen McLellan (James Slocum), Kim Famularo (Roy Tolley), John McLellan, Mark McLellan (Judy) and Paul McLellan (Rachelle); 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren; her sisters Patti O’Connor & Louise Thomas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Henry Gerstenberg and an identical twin sister.
A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, April 22, 2017, 10 am at St. Thomas Episcopal Parish, 276 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE 19711 followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, DE. www.pippinfuneralhome.com
