George Lyman Harris

George L. Harris, age 96, passed away December 12, 2018 in Dover, DE. Mr. Harris was born on October 22, 1922 in Shinnston, WV, the son of George Thomas &  Catherine. 

George was a highly decorated WWII veteran who served in the United States Army.   He enjoyed doing crafts, woodworking, upholstery and spending time with family.  He was an active deacon with his church, Christ Memorial Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jean; Children Larry (Cindy), Ray (Angie) &  Richard ; grandchildren; Chris, Bill, Shelby Olson, Brent, Samantha Mountz, Philip & Alexis;  great grandchildren; Cody, Cheyenne, Ryan and Jason.  Mr. Harris is  preceded in death by his parents, siblings & his son Gary. 

Funeral Service Sunday, 1 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming  Ave., Wyoming DE.  Friends may call beginning at 12 Noon and following the service  until 3 pm.  Interment services private at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro. 

Memorials may be made to Christ Memorial Baptist Church, 1160 E. Lebanon Rd.,  Dover, DE 19901.
