Eunice C (Caldwell) Smith

Eunice C. Smith went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 4, 2020. She was 82. She was born August 2, 1937 in Dover and remained there throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Smith, Sr (Smitty), her father, George Caldwell, her mother, Novella Caldwell (Crist), and brother, M. Lindale Shockley. Eunice was spunky and full of life.

She enjoyed painting, crafting, camping, watching wrestling, and spending time with her family. Eunice was a member of Cheswold United Methodist Church in Cheswold, Delaware. She was employed by the Division of Public Health for the State of Delaware as a clerical worker. She retired after many years of service, and then returned part-time for another 7 years. She was known and loved by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Juanita L. Ridley, and her son, Thomas J. Smith, Jr. Eunice had three grandchildren, Amanda N. McAllister (Daniels), Jessica L. Benos (Smith), and J. Tyler Smith. She also had the pleasure of having a great grandson, Taso Benos. She was called sister by J. Ben Shockley, J. April Bedgood (Caldwell), and G. Esther Shockley (M. Lindale). Aside from her immediate family, Eunice had nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.

Her Memorial Service and burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date.
