Esteban Gonzalez IV Obituary

Esteban Gonzalez IV left us on November 13, 2018 at Sibley Kimmel Hospital in Washington D.C.

Esteban touched so many during his short stay of 39 years with us. He was born in California and grew up in the city of Modesto.  He spent summers during his younger years visiting in Delaware. He relocated to Delaware in 2015 with his two young girls for a new experience and a desire to connect with family members, many he hadn’t met.  As a young man visiting in DE, steamed crabs quickly became a favorite of his and a “must have” on each visit.  In June 2018 he relocated to Maryland to be near a close cousin and for his treatment, but knowing him…. the authentic Maryland crabs may have been a slight motivator too!

Esteban has always been about family and enjoyed nothing more than being with them wherever he went and making them all a part of his life.  His infectious smile and exuberant personality were key to his knack in making family feel like friends… and friends feel like family.  He thoroughly enjoyed spending time cooking (particularly new recipes).  His favorite pastimes to relax were going fishing and crabbing, made more special whenever accompanied by his two beautiful young daughters, Deyanna and Sariyah Gonzalez.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Belinda Gonzalez in 2017.

In addition to his daughters he is survived by his father Esteban Gonzalez III and his wife, Sharon Gonzalez, paternal grandmother, Cecilia Gonzalez, maternal grandmother, Ruby Gilmer, aunt Stephanie Thomas and uncle Kenneth Thomas, uncle Sebastian Gonzalez, sister, Ciara Gonzalez, step-brother Brian Burge, first cousins Sabrina Gonzalez, Markell Wilson, and LaRon Clay, special cousin Emma Ruffin and her husband Glenn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special loved ones spreading across the nation from California along the entire east coast.
