Elaine Ann Phinney

Elaine A. Phinney, age, 85, joined her husband, William L. Phinney and her son Lawrence W. Phinney in heaven on April 1st    .  Born and raised in Brockton, MA , she married Will, started a family, and ran the organizational part of the family business, William L. Phinney Land Surveyor.  She was musical; playing the organ at church and being a part of the church choir.  After the passing of Will, she moved to Dover, DE to be closer to her son, Larry, and her grandsons and great-grandchildren.  In Dover, she became a loved part of Grace Church.  She enjoyed reading, getting books from the local Book Mobile every week, and was a master at jigsaw puzzles, donating what she had completed to her church for others to enjoy.  She is processed in death by her husband, her son and her sister Marie Valente.  Her life is being celebrated by those that she has left:  Grandson James Phinney and his wife, Carolyn, Grandson Jason and his significant other Joanne O’Neill,  Great-Grandsons:  Chase O’Neill, Tyler Phinney, Mason Phinney, and Trevor Phinney and Elaine’s brother, Ralph Philbrick, Jr.    A Memorial Service is being held,1:00 pm,  Friday, April 7th at Grace Church, 350 McKee Road, Dover, De 19901,  with visitation from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, since she always said she would rather enjoy them while she was around, the family is asking donations to Grace Church, 350 McKee Road, Dover, De 19901 to help support all of the extraordinary activities at the church she supported.     Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
