Duane M Porter

     Duane M. Porter, 88, of Dover passed away on August 30, 2017 at home.

     Mr. Porter was an educator for the Caesar Rodney School District when it was located on the Dover Air Force Base and then when it moved to its current location for total service of about 34 years.  He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.  Mr. Porter was a devoted member of Faith Community Church, where he served in numerous capacities.  He earned his bachelors degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. and his master’s degree from the University of Delaware.  His hobbies included spending time with his family, travel, boating and golf.

     Mr. Porter is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Prettyman Porter; three children:  Valerie Porter Henry and her husband Jesse of Hartly, Frank Holland Porter of Jupiter, FL and David Marvin Porter and his wife Grace of Jupiter, FL; four sisters, Jeannene Renninger of Merritt Island, FL, Ruth Ann Clemens of O'neill, Neb, Deanna Bellin of Minneola, FL and Elinor Zimmer of Chambers, Neb; and five grandchildren: Jordan Henry, Joshua Porter, Noah Porter, Micah Porter and Elijah Porter.

     A memorial service will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, September 8, 2017 at Faith Community Church, 2240 S. DuPont Highway, Camden, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Friday.  Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.  Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S.
