Douglas Edward Cope

Douglas Edward Cope 41, Of Milton, DE., formerly of Upper Darby, PA died December 23, 2019 peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, after a brave battle with Glioblastoma brain tumors.

Douglas graduated from Strath Haven High School in Wallingford, PA in 1996 where he made many lifelong friends.  He also attended Delaware Technical Community College.

Doug will be remembered for his knowledge of movies and sports especially his hometown Philly teams, the Eagles and the Phillies.  He had the sweetest smile and a dry witty sense of humor.  With his kind big heart, he always tried to go that extra step to help his family and friends.  Mr. Cope enjoyed his volunteered time at the SPCA.  Doug also enjoyed his many weekend visits to the Crooked Hammock in Lewes, where he made many friends.

Doug is survived and will be missed dearly by his parents, Ed & Carolyn Cope of Milton; his brother, Kyle Cope, of Milton; his foster brother, Ryan; and Doug's son, Jake, many relatives and friends.  Doug is preceded in death by his brother, Gregory C. Cope.

Memorial Service Sunday, January 19, 2020, 12 Noon at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE.  Friends may gather beginning at 11 am.
