Dorothy V. (Conley) Stanton

     Dorothy V. (Conley) Stanton, 97, of Felton passed away on August 17, 2019 at home.

     Mrs. Stanton had been an LPN at Kent General Hospital for about nine years. Afterwards, she worked in civil service as an LPN in the Ob-Gyn department at the Dover Air Force Base Hospital.  She participated as a coastal lookout during World War II, looking out for airplanes for the Civil Air Patrol. She was a farmer and a farmer’s wife. She enjoyed reading, cooking and loved taking care of people.  Mrs. Stanton was former president of the LPN Association of Delaware and was a member of the Willow Run Ruritan Club.  She liked to travel and enjoyed her visit to Ireland.

     Her husband, Wilson T. Stanton, passed away in 1983.  She is survived by her two sons, Wilson “Tinker” Stanton and his wife Brenda of Milford and Thomas R. Stanton and his wife Debbie of Felton; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bertha Stanton Thompson.

     A graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.  There will be no viewing.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
