Coleman Watson Mosley, Jr. a.k.a. Chip or Chipper was born on January 10, 1958 in Dover, DE and passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Christiana, DE. Coleman was the fourth child of the late Elaine B. and Coleman W. Mosley Sr. Although Coleman Sr. had not intended to name a son after him, when his 3rd son was born on his birthday, he became Coleman Jr. or Chip as in “Chip off the Old Block.”
Chip received his early education from Dover High and Prince Edward County High School. He studied psychology at Virginia College and Seminary in Lynchburg, VA.
His career included food preparation, grounds maintenance and being a Radio DJ and announcer. For five years his golden voice could be heard on Eagle 97.7 radio in Milford, DE. There he served as the morning show host and disc jockey.
Coleman was joined in holy matrimony to Delma “Renea” Paige and to that union two children were born: Cherelle and Taneisha.
His beautiful memories will long live in the hearts of many. To celebrate his home going he leaves: his devoted companion, Lynne Smith; his son, Cherelle Mosley of Richmond, VA, and daughter Taneisha Mosley of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren: Jeda, Jamarcus and Jaiden; two brothers: Michael W. Mosley of Philadelphia, PA and Reginald B. Mosley of Tampa, FL.; two sisters: Deborah L. Fisher of Dover, DE and Sharon E. Mosley of Freeport, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
