Brenda Jones Williams

Brenda Elaine Jones was born in Detroit, Michigan on Tuesday, December 7, 1954, to Mary Lee Frazier and Rev. Phelton Wednesday Jones, the second of three daughters. 

As the daughter of a famous gospel singer, Brenda began singing with her two sisters, Shirley and Valorie, at a young age, securing her first record deal at the age of 8. She went on to graduate from Cass Technical High School and pursued a psychology degree at Wayne State University. But an opportunity to work with Diana Ross would take Brenda and her sisters to Los Angeles, before they would go on to their own successful career as The Jones Girls.

But those who knew Brenda best would tell you her favorite role was being a mother to her two daughters, Marita Frazier and Marissa Williams, and loving the light of her life, her granddaughter, Valenda (Lenni) Marie Stinson. 

She will forever be missed by her three girls, along with her sister Shirley Jones and her nephews: Phelton (PJ) Jones and Cameron Hubbard.
