Benjamin Quail Obituary

Deacon Benjamin E. Quail of Dover, DE was born November 4, 1951, and went home to be with the Lord Early Sunday morning July 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  He was 66 years old.  He was the son of the late Lawrence Thorpe and the Living Dorothy Morris.

Benjamin attended Viola Elementary and Felton High school.  He met his High school sweetheart in 1969 and was joined in Holy Matrimony on June 5, 1983, and from this union two children were born.  Benjamin worked as a custodian for Purnell Laundromats for 15 plus years.   He was a man of many talents doing anything to help anybody.  He just had a heart of GOLD.  He was never a complainer even when he was on his sick bed to his very last day.  Ben loved watching westerns (Gunsmoke, Rifleman and Andy Griffin). His highlight of the day was watching Jimmy Swaggart, where he could get his Praise and worship on with his hands lifted up and head and feet rocking back and forth.  His favorite saying was “NOBODY BUT GOD”!! And His final words were “RESA … I’M GOING”!  He knew that Jesus was calling him home.  He fought a good fight and his course was finished.  No more pain and suffering on this side. He took his flight and that is one flight he Did not want to miss!   He was a member of Jesus is Lord Church of Deliverance where he remained faithful.

He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Thorpe and step father William Morris.  He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Dorothy Morris of Tampa Florida.  His wife Doreatha A. Quail of 36 years; two children Tinisha Brown (Brian); Casheena Quail-Anthony (Malik) and a Very special granddaughter Kadeja S. Quail all of Dover, DE, three step grandchildren Ciera Walker, Arianna Walker and Destynee Brown all of Wilmington, DE, One sister Alice Morris (Nathan) of Tampa Florida, A very special Uncle James Quail (Gloria) of Dover, DE, Theodore Quail of Frederica, DE, Two aunts Margaret Quail of Felton, DE, Arnetta Brooks (James) of Dover, DE, Two Great Aunts, Louise Conquest of Harrington, DE, Libby Butcher of West Chester, PA, Goddaughter Jade Sample of Texas and a Host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including a good friend Benny Carroll of Felton, DE.
