Barbara V (Walker) Halliday

     Barbara Victoria (Walker) Halliday, 81, of Wyoming passed away from a 7 year battle with cancer on September 12, 2017 surrounded by her family at home.

     Barbara was born June 5, 1936 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late William W. and Victoria V. Walker.  She was a 1954 graduate of John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna and earned her associates degree from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington in 1956.  She married Orville R. Halliday, Jr. on June 1, 1957, who passed in 1986.

     Mrs. Halliday worked 33 years in civil service, retiring in 2006 from the Dover AFB 436th Operations Group.  She was a church organist at Immaculate Conception Church in Marydel, MD for many years and at Woodside United Methodist Church in Woodside since 1993. 

     Mrs. Halliday is survived by four children:  Michael L. Halliday and his wife Gwen of Caddo Mills, TX, Patricia C. Brown of Wyoming, Gary A. Halliday and his wife Dottie of Dover and Cynthia Pink and her husband Raymond of Milford; her sister, Charlotte W. Dixon and her husband Donald of Wyoming; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her father, William W. Walker, her husband Orville R. Halliday, Jr. and by her mother Victoria V. (Palivoda) Walker.

     A memorial service will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Woodside United Methodist Church, 1407 Main Street, Woodside, DE 19980.  Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Friday in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, MD.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
