Willis McTeer

     Willis McTeer, 75 years old, of Magnolia,DE peacefully went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Delaware Hospice in Milford. Born on February 27, 1942, in Charleston, S.C., he was the son of the late Mattie McTeer and Willie McTeer.

     Willis attended Baptist Hill High School in Charleston County.  He worked for Doug Webb Landscaping for over 15 years.  He enjoyed spending time with family.  He loved music and dancing and he also loved cooking dinner just to see everyone's smiling faces.

     Willis leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 36 years, Ruth Elizabeth McTeer; four sons: Michael Green, William Short, Kirk Ward, and Willis McTeer; eight daughters: Shonder Johnson, Yolanda Green, Faith McTeer Lewis, Theresa Kellam, Elizabeth Robinson, Tamica McTeer, Hope McTeer, and Tina McTeer; 24 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; and four sons in law.  He also leaves behinds his siblings: Paul McTeer of Ravenel, SC, Silas and Michelle McTeer of Milford, Louise McTeer of Ravenel, SC, Helen Jenkins of Hollywood, SC, Patricia and Fred Green of Summerville, SC, Margaret Pinckney-Bates of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Herbert Pinckney of Summerville, SC, Levon Pinckney of Hollywood, SC and Stanley Pinckney of Hollywood, SC; five sisters in law; three brothers in law; a host of nieces and nephews including two special nieces Hope McCray and Valerie Johnson.

     A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 205 NW 4th Street, Milford, DE 19963 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday.  Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
