William Paul (Bill) Hertz, Sr. of Wyoming passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015. He was 71. Bill was born in Harrisburg, PA on February 6, 1944 and moved to Delaware when he was six.
He was always a hard worker and started a paper route while he was in school. He worked in the construction field for 44 years, spending most of his career as a superintendent. After retiring, Bill spent seven years doing his dream job, which was driving a tour bus. He loved driving and interacting with people. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, and they were the joys of his life.
He is preceded in death by his father William K. Hertz, Jr. and sister Claire Mallicote. Mr. Hertz is survived by his mother Ruth Hertz of Wyoming, DE; his loving wife of 51 years, Christine Hoeflich Hertz of Wyoming, DE; his two children , Paul Hertz of Wyoming, DE and Kristie Hertz Cross (Jay), of Lexington, SC; his three grandchildren Kyle Hertz of West Palm Beach, FL.; and Parker Cross and Ansel Cross of Lexington, SC; and his three sisters, Frances Haley, of Wyoming, DE, Eleanor Ricchuiti of Dover, DE, and Bertie Hertz of Cincinnati, OH.
Friends may gather from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 24 at Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE; where services will be held 11 am, Friday, September 25, 2015. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
