Weldon Burton Reynolds, Jr., of Dover, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Kent General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Weldon was born on April 16, 1930, in Milton, Delaware. He was 84 years old. Weldon was the son of the late Weldon Burton Reynolds, Sr. and Margaret Reynolds, who was remarried to George Russell. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gisela B. Lebefromm Reynolds, and their son, James H. Reynolds.

In 1946, Weldon enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 18. He had an accomplished career in Communications and Computer Operations, retiring after 26 years, at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He spent most of his career overseas, leaving his children with fond memories of their travels throughout Europe.  While stationed abroad, he was also an active member of the Masonic Lodge. After proudly serving his country, he worked for the State of Delaware Lottery office, retiring from his position after 20 years.

Weldon was a hard worker and liked to stay busy. He enjoyed bowling, and played on a league until his health declined. Three and a half years ago he met and married his wife, Virginia Hartnett Reynolds. Together they enjoyed dinners and dancing at the Modern Maturity Center, traveling to Lancaster for shopping excursions, and attending American Music Theater productions.

Weldon leaves behind his loving wife, Virginia; step-children, Hope and Darrin, and their children; a daughter, Susan G. Holliday and her husband Chuck; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; daughter in law, Saundra; brother, Jack Reynolds and his wife, Eileen of Seaford; two sisters in law, Ilsa and Margot Lebefromm, along with her children and grandchildren.
