Walter Robert Sawyer, of Wyoming, known to all as “Bucky”, passed away at home, on Saturday, July 16, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Bucky was born on November 4, 1948 in Dover, to the late Charles Sawyer, and Naomi Mayne. He was 67 years old.
Bucky was employed as a truck broker for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, watching Phillies games, and horse racing. Above all else, he cherished spending quality time with his family, and making countless memories.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen. Together they were blessed with 26 years of marriage. He also leaves behind his son, Brad Sawyer, daughter, Ashley Lyon and her husband, Christopher, son, Robert Sawyer; grandchildren, Adalyn Lyon, Cassidy, and David Sawyer; siblings, Doris Porter, Wayne Adkins Sr., Edna Cook, Clara Sheridan, Angie Moore; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Jake.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 22, 2016, at 1:00 pm, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Delaware 19934. Friends may call two hours prior. Burial will follow services at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
