Virginia Meredith Ball

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Virginia M. Ball (Tyler), of Camden- Wyoming, DE, went to rest on February 19, 2015. She was 75 years old. Virginia was born on March 20, 1939, in Purdy, VA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler. She was a member of the Bibleway Temple Institutional Church of God in Christ, where she served faithfully till her death.

Virginia worked for 36 years and then retired from National Starch and Chemical Company in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Virginia lived and worked in New Jersey for 50 years before moving to Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, 2005. Virginia was the best wife, loving mother, sister, Nana, and good friend anyone could ever have.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above, 3 brothers: Mr. Milton Tyler and Mr. Howard Tyler, of Emporia, VA; .and Mr. Bernard Tyler of Richmond, VA; 2 sisters: Mrs. Shirley Brewer and Mrs. Linda Powell, both of Emporia. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mr. Charles E. Ball; her daughter, Mrs. Joyce Stopa (Matthew); 4 grandchildren: Miss Lee M. Stopa, Mrs. Rachel J. Smith (Dustin), Mr. Jason M. Stopa, and Mr. Kenan C. Stopa; 4 sisters: Mrs. Ernestine Moore (Julius, deceased), Mrs. Lillian Manning (Nathaniel, deceased), Mrs. Gertrude Lawson (Lawrence), Mrs. Carolyn Jones (Thomas), and 2 brothers: Mr. Russell Tyler and Mr. Perry Tyler. She is also survived by one great-grandson, Atlas B. Stopa; and so many nieces, nephews and cousins!

The family expresses grateful appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff at Bay Health and Christiana Hospital, as well as the caregivers at Compassionate Care Hospice, and all the love and prayers of family and friends. The level of medical care and compassion was outstanding. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE. 19934.

Funeral Services will be held at Bibleway Temple Institutional Church of God in Christ, 56 S. Kirkwood St., Dover, DE, on Monday, February 23, 2015, at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Brown Family Cemetery in Emporia, VA, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
