Thelma Grier Gibson, 87, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 27, 1929 in Milford, Delaware, daughter of the late Hazel and Hayward Grier.
Thelma was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, Class of 1947. Her employment included Sears Roebuck, Green Giant and Sea Watch International.
She enjoyed her family and was known by many as Mom-mom. Her hobbies included cooking, word circle puzzles, reading, NASCAR, 4-H, watching Dancing with the Stars, Pioneer Woman and especially the older shows The Rifleman and Bonanza.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Joseph Ray Gibson, Sr., son and daughter in law Joseph Ray Gibson, Jr. and his wife Beverly and her brother Hampton Grier and his wife Emily.
She is survived by her loving daughter Judy Anderson and her husband Robert E. Anderson, Jr., grandchildren Rebecca Ann Zink and her companion Mike Schaller, John Gregory Gibson, Matthew Joseph Gibson and Robert Joseph Anderson, great grandchildren Sara and Joshua Zink, nieces Debbie Grier and Gayle Yoder, nephews Larry Grier (Hope), Robert Gibson, Scott Gibson (Amy), her aunt Dorothy Grier, several cousins, and dear friends George and Eloise Melvin.
Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
