Mr. Stephen Alan Johnson, 65 of Dover, DE. departed this life on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital after a long illness. He was born on October 6, 1951 at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. Stephen attended Boys High School and later attended West Chester Community College where he was a stand out basketball player. Stephen worked at EMI Music Publishing for over 20 years and recently worked for the Delaware Department of Health and Human Services. Stephen was a dapper dresser and well loved amongst family and friends.
Stephen is preceded in death by: Henry Johnson (father), brothers Russell, Glen & Michael. Stephen is survived by one daughter Chaneen Johnson of New Britain, CT.; grandson NeShaun, granddaughter Zhanice, of New Britain, CT.; mother Mable Mims of Magnolia, DE.; sister Debra Johnson and husband Gerard McGriff of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brother Keith Johnson (Yvette) of Brooklyn N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Memorial Service, Sunday, August 13, 2017, 1:30 PM at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue. Friends may call beginning 1 hour prior to the service.
