Sherman Robert Colbert, 73 of Milford, DE, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away May 6, 2017 at the Delaware Veterans Home.  Sherman was born November 8, 1943 in Bloomsburg, PA.  Sherman was predeceased by parents Ralph & Helen Colbert, sister Barbara Jean Colbert Dawson and grandson, Todd Michael Colbert. 

Sherman was a proud Air Force Veteran who loved reading, watching television, football and golf. He was active in his community as a member of the B.P.O.E #2281, American Legion, past president of the Newark American Little League, and the past Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop #362 and a special Deacon at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife and best-friend of 54 years, Mary Anne Colbert; his children, Brandon Robert Colbert (Anna), Melissa Ann Roy (Roger) & Amy Michelle Klair (David); grandchildren Jason, Erica, Samantha, Gabrielle, Kyle,Trevor, Jennifer & Jamie Fuhrer; great grand children, Alyssa, Kalynn, Jason Jr, Nevaeh, Trinity, Elisha, Dalton Dax, Aurora, Isabella & Anna Marie Esposito; his sister, Shirley Ann Edder; his brother Ralph E. Colbert; a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.

Celebration of life Service Friday, May 12, 2017, 11 am at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 200 Marrows Road, Newark, DE 19713.  Visitation beginning at 10 am.

Memorials may be made to the church.
