Welcome to the memorial page for

Shelly M Morris

June 10, 2016

Shelly Marie Morris was born August 27th, 1961 to the late Sam Morris and Catherine Allen Morris. She was promoted to glory on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the age of 54. A child of God, Shelly accepted our Lord Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized at St. Paul AME. A lifelong resident of Delaware, Shelly was educated in the Lake Forest School District. Throughout her life she was employed at the Lodge Inn, Dover Air Force Base, as well as within the Caesar Rodney School District.

Known affectionately by some as “Poogie’s Baby Girl ” and Mom Mom Shelly by her adoring grandson, Shelly had a carefree spirit and was happiest spending time with her sons and grandson. Shelly had a heart full of compassion and care for her family and neighbors. Her caring spirit always asked about how you were doing; she always wanted to know about the next person in spite of her own health challenges and life situations. That was our Shelly. She always had an uplifting word to share and she was the go to person for words of wisdom in times of joy or strife. Shelly lived as an angel on earth for many. She was the epitome of selflessness and sacrifice.

She leaves to cherish her memories and lift up her great spirit, her two sons Brandon Morris and his fiancée Danielle D’ Haiti of Bethlehem, PA, Brad Morris of Dover, DE, grandson Brad Morris Jr.; sisters Shirlna Tolson and husband Dennis of Magnolia, DE, Shirlene Willis and John of Dover, DE; two aunts Yvonne Savizon Bronx, NY and Elaine Cuff and husband Elliott of Pomona, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” Proverbs 31:25-26

On earth this family has lost an amazing woman, mother and loving friend. A woman that used actions to show how much she loved each one of us on a daily basis. She found her strength in Jesus Christ, she lived life on faith and with the promises He has made to us. Although we are grieving and heartbroken, we will remain grounded in our faith. We find comfort and solace in knowing that she lives on in our hearts as she rest with our Lord.
