Sharon Lynn Ulrich

Sharon Lynn Ulrich, nee. Forbes, born December  21, 1956 in Dover at Kent General Hospital, parted this earth on January 22, 2017, while in the care of the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 60 years old and had  battled multiple strokes and seizures over the past several months. She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia L. Drabbant; father, John A. Forbes, Sr.; and her step-mother, Loretta Forbes, along with many aunts and uncles.

     Sharon was an elementary school teacher for 28 years, in the Caesar Rodney School District, and touched the lives of many students and their families. Sharon graduated from the University of Delaware in 1978 with a BA in Education; and from Delaware State University in 1980 with an MA in Education. She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1974, and was the head of the Class of 1974 Reunion Committee. She was an active member of the Avon Club of Felton, which her mother and grandmother were also members of.

     Sharon loved traveling, especially to the Delaware beaches for sea glass collecting, listening to music and seeing live bands, reading, birdwatching, gardening, and spending time with countless friends and family in the area. She had a love for animals, including many pet dogs and cats. She attended many programs for First Friday in Dover; went to many free concerts on The Green, and contributed to many local shops in and around Dover. She and her family regularly took trips and went on vacations around the country, and spent much of their time outdoors.

     Sharon is survived by her husband, Kevin Ulrich; stepfather, Robert Drabbant; siblings, John A. Forbes, Jr., Arlene Gensel, Laurie Forbes, and Kathleen Vogt. children, Julia Todd, Carrie McGinnes, Alexander Ulrich, and Molly Ulrich. grandchildren, Malachi Todd, Jude Todd, Ezra Todd, Abram Todd, Cannon McGinnes, and Harper McGinnes.

    A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 28, 2017, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may gather 2 hours before.
