Samuel Luther Corbin, 80, of Dover passed away on August 12, 2016 in the Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Corbin was a groundskeeper for Delaware State University for 28 years, where he also served as an equipment manager. He enjoyed football and basketball. Mr. Corbin was a member of the American Legion in Dover. He enjoyed cutting grass for his neighbors and taking care of his wife.
Mr. Corbin is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Lydia Y. (Wilkerson) Corbin; five children: Chastine A. Wilkerson of Dover, Darnell Wilkerson and his wife Linda of Philadelphia, Rhonda C. White of Wilmington, Maurice D. White of Dover and Lamar Gibbs of Dover; three sisters: Peggy Nelson, Lorraine Cliett and Ida Ginyard, all of Philadelphia; two brothers in law: Frank Nelson and Ronald Cliett of Philadelphia; six grandchildren and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his son Wayne Wilkerson, his sister Janet Massey and by his parents Rev. Thomas and Margaret Massey.
A funeral service will be Noon Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 10:00 to 12:00 on Friday. A committal service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
