Ryan Harris passed away peacefully on June 12, 2017 after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer due to Lynch Syndrome. He was 41 years old.
Everyone who knew Ryan fell in love with him. His big heart along with his sarcastic sense of humor was unmatched. He was a pipe welder for many years, and was very proud of his trade. He worked at Aker Shipyard for 12 years where he not only gained friends, but a second family. Aside from working, he enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family.
Ryan is survived by the love of his wife Vella “Mimi” Harris, three children: Alyssa Harris, Ryan “R.J.” Harris, Jr., and Kayla Harris; one grandson, Aiden Swiggett-Harris; a sister, Tammy Blanchfield; two brothers: Frank and Tom Matarese; sister in law Latisha Morris and brother in law Chris Hall; sisters in law Mandy Turbitt Wiley, Melinda Kohlhaas, Catherine Shiver and brother in law Paul Turbitt; along with a host of nieces and nephews and his special buddy C.J. Hall.
A funeral service will be 6:00 P.M. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Saturday. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
