Ruth R. Hertz, of Wyoming, passed away on June 16th at BayHealth Medical Center at the age of 95. Ruth was born March 7, 1921 in East Berlin, Pennsylvania to the late Paul and Elma Jacobs.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years William K. Hertz, daughter Claire Hertz-Mallicote and son William (Bill) Hertz and grandson George Coventry.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Her job was at home and she was always there to prepare a meal for her children and husband Bill when he came home from work.
A gentle woman, Ruth never complained. She was kind, considerate and never spoke ill of anyone as she always saw the good in people. Her sense of humor would bring a giggle to those that knew her. Ruth loved feeding the birds in her yard and watching wildlife.
She is survived by four daughters, Frances Haley of Dover; Eleanor Ricchuiti of Dover; Bertie Hertz of Cincinnati, Ohio and Christine Hertz, wife of Bill Hertz. Her grandchildren are: Robin Coventry of Dover; John Coventry of Wyoming; Joe Stinson of Wilmington; David Minor of Hartly; Lance Minor of Concord, North Carolina; John Henry Mallicote of Dunkirk, Maryland, Paul Hertz of Wyoming; Kristie Cross of Lexington, South Carolina; and Ruthie (Major Heath, USMC) Ruppert of Okinawa, Japan. She was 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Service will be 12 noon Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Meals on Wheels, Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover, DE 19904.
