Ruth Anita (Chase) Towle, 91, of Wyoming, DE, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 21, 2015. Born in Roanoke, VA on August 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Chase. Her beloved husband Winslow B. Towle preceded her in death in 2004.
Anita is survived by a brother, Russell Chase, of Barre, MA; 4 children, Patricia Dempsey, wife of James, of Brookline, NH, Gail Hershey, wife of Donald, of Mt. Joy, PA, Joyce McDonald, wife of Dennis, of St. Johns, MI, and Larry Towle, husband of Barbara, of Wyoming, DE. She was the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A 1944 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, she went on to work as a nursery school teacher, dietary aide, occupational therapy aide, and home care companion. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Newtown Square, PA until relocating to Delaware in 1986. There she joined the Wyoming United Methodist Church where she actively participated in Bible Studies, Prayer Groups, Knitting Group, Visitation Team, and was an Office Volunteer. Throughout her life, she had a passion for Missions and Outreach to bring the good news of the love of Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation to all.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, DE at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment at Sharon Hill Cemetery will follow the service.
