Roberta J. Yencer

Roberta J. Yencer, 70, passed away on January 7, 2017.

She was born in Rochester, New York on November 20, 1946 to the late John R. and Nina (Bushman) Mamerow.  She attended Rush-Henrietta Central School through most of 7th grade and then moving to Pavilion, New York where she finished high school and graduated in 1964.  She graduated from Alfred State University with an Associate in applied Science degree in 1966.  She worked at Highland Hospital School of Nursing until moving to Delaware in 1969.  After being a stay at home mom for a number of years, she worked for Yencer Builders, Inc. as the Office Manager.

She married David R. Yencer August 30, 1969.  Together they raised three sons, Kevin John Yencer of Felton, Steven Michael Yencer of Magnolia and Christopher David Yencer of New Castle.  She also leaves five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed being outdoors helping with yard work or just enjoying the wildlife.  She really enjoyed going out in the pontoon boat and seeing the bald eagles.

Roberta was predeceased by her parents and a nephew, Scott Curtiss.

Service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, January 10 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, DE where friends and family may gather two hours earlier.  A reception will follow the service at the church in the Family Life Center.  Interment will be in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to the Memorial Gardens at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, DE 19904 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
