Robert “Buzz” Ireland of Smyrna, passed away on August 5, 2016, at Kent General Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 74 years old. Buzz was born in Dover, to the late Cecil Ireland and Ida Marshall.
Buzz proudly served his country in the United States Army, working as a Heavy Weapons Infantryman, during the Vietnam War. He later returned to civilian life and worked for many years on the Delaware Bay as a crabber. He also spent time as a volunteer with the Leipsic Fire Department. He enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, watching NASCAR and horse racing, and bowling every chance he got.
Buzz is survived by Eddie Davis Sr. and his wife Kathy, who lovingly provided a home for him almost 17 years ago; Martin and Amy Davis, Allan and Denise Davis, Kandy and Thomas Wooleyhand, Eddie Davis Jr. and Janet; and all of their children. He also leaves behind siblings, Walter, Reggie, Ronnie, and Betty; and several cousins
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Pippin Funeral Home, where friends may gather one hour prior.
