Phillip John Saroglia

Phillip John Saroglia passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 with his wife by his side.

         Born May 24, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Saroglia served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, working as an aircraft maintenance mechanic. He played baseball in his youth and softball as an adult.  He received his Master Plumbing license and worked for Ray’s Plumbing and Heating Company for over 20 years.  Phil enjoyed fishing, baseball, boating, camping, home brewing and loved the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers.  Phil was also an avid Star Trek fan.

       The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Seasons Hospice for their care. 

     Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Phoebe “Bunny” Saroglia.  He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Karen Saroglia; his sister, Nancy Jaszcz and her husband Jeff and their children Joel (nephew) and Stephanie (niece) of Detroit, Michigan; four step children: Christopher Miller of Dover, Jason Miller of Felton, Amanda Miller of Dover and Shawn Miller of Smyrna; grandchildren, Tyler M. Miller of Dover and Aydria L. Webb of Dover; his mother in law June V. White of Dover and a host of in laws.

      A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Walter L. Fox American Legion Post #2, 835 S. Bay Road, Dover, DE 19901.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
