Welcome to the memorial page for

Patricia "Trish" A Speakman

April 24, 1981 ~ June 13, 2017 (age 36) 36 Years Old

Patricia A. Speakman passed away June 13, 2017.

Patricia was a long time resident of Wilmington, DE where she lived most of her life.  She grew up in Claymont, DE attending Holy Rosary School and playing softball and cheerleading for Claymont for many of her younger years.  When Patricia grew up she often went by the name Trisha or Trish.  She attended Mt. Pleasant High School and Job Corps of West Virginia.  She studied to become a nurse.  She did become a nurse’s aide at Riverside Hospital for several years.  On her off time when she wasn’t working, Trisha took the stage name “NuTrishUs” and did slam poetry in her free time.  It was something she loved to do.  She did a lot of spoken word open mic nights.  She also loved stand up comedies.  Every time a new stand up came on she was the first one to know.  She had a bright and shining personality that will be missed by many.  Patricia had a way about her that made others laugh, it was hard to be in a bad mood around her.  She most recently lived in North Philadelphia where she lived and worked.  She enjoyed spending free time with her friends.

Patricia has a son who is 12 years old, and he is the light of her life.  They thought of themselves as the dynamic duo.  They would talk comic books, or go to museums, watch movies or just talk about life and enjoy spending time with each other.  Their bond is a beautiful thing and one that always kept Patricia going.

Patricia is preceded in death by her mother and father Candida and Timmy Speakman and her grandparents Walter and Eleanor Speakman and Russell McBride.  Patricia is survived by her son David A. Green, III; her sister and brother in law Meaghan and Max McPherson and niece Mia.  She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the FOE (Fraternal Order of Eagles), 415 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809.  Please come and share your memories and stories about Patricia.  Burial will be private.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
