Dover- Patience V. Ayers-Payne

On Tuesday, August 30, 2016, Patience Valinda Ayers-Payne of Dover was wrapped in the warmth of God at home and transitioned peacefully at the age of 54.  God, the light of the universe, changed the energy on earth and brought Patience home to be amongst the angels and surrounded by her loving presence.

Patience was born February 23, 1962 the daughter of Paul L. and Armecia (Frances - Copes) Ayers. She received her education through the Capital School District and was raised as an active member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. Patience was a graduate of Dover High School and attended Norfolk State University. She was employed in the banking and automotive industry for many years until she retired.

Patience had a passion for baking and cooking for all of the people she loved, for this is how she could make her expressions and gift of love truly tangible.  She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and sharing her culinary talents for all to enjoy.

In addition to both parents, Patience leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Lorrell Armecia Ayers of Phila. PA: brother; Paul G. Ayers (Beverly) River Hills WI, sister Dynette C. Merritt (William Sr.) Townsend, DE, brother Bruce V. Ayers Sr., Greensboro MD, Lawrence R. Ayers (Melissa) Chester Spring PA, life partner, Curtis V. Payne, close friend Anton L. Hopkins Sr and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Patience was preceded in death by her grandparents:  Jacob and Bernice Ayers; Olga Mae Copes and John J. Fortune; and her Uncles:  Vernon W. Ayers and Jacob L. Ayers; Julius H. Copes

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11am at Union Missionary Baptist Church 883 Lincoln St. Dover, DE. The viewing for family and friends will be from 9:00am-11:00am.
