Nancy Norris Brown

Nancy Norris Brown died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the age of 90 in the Country Rest Home, Greenwood.  Nancy was born December 23, 1925 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, daughter of the late Gertrude Dot Barnes Griffin and Charles Eugene Norris.

She graduated from Blackstone Girls School in Virginia and Peace College, Raleigh, North Carolina.

She worked for many years at the Modern Maturity Center, Dover as an Administrative Assistant. Nancy will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and dear friend to all who knew her.  She always saw the bright side of every situation.  Mrs. Brown was active in many organizations including the Wyoming-Camden Round Table Club, Wyoming United Methodist Church, Republican Women’s Club, Kent General Hospital volunteer, Reading Coach through Delaware public Library and Old Dover Days volunteer.  She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, sewing, reading, gardening and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Marybrook Fox Brown, brothers C. Eugene Norris and William Henry Norris.

She is survived by her children Cubbage Brown of Camden, Dennis Brown and his wife Janet Stull Brown of Salisbury, Maryland, Linda Brown Tjaden and her husband Robert Jr. of Harrington, Delaware, grandchildren Kimberly Brown Dawson, Matthew Brown, Jennifer Brown Surdukowski, Caitlin Brown, Allison Brown, David Brown, Robert Tjaden III, Scott Tjaden and nine great grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to11:30 a.m. and service to follow at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.  Burial will follow at Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover, Delaware.
