Myrtle Virginia McLean Pressley was born June 29, 1930 in Laurinburg, North Carolina to the late Will McLean & Hester Caple McLean. She departed this life November 8, 2016 at Bay Health Center, Milford, Delaware. She attended the North Carolina School District, but relocated to Delaware in the late 1960’s. There she became a member of Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Major Foster.
There she was a faithful member and good spirited person working on the usher board. She was humble and didn’t talk very much unless she knew you. Her hobbies included serving the Lord, bingo, watching T.V., listening to her gospel music and going on trips in her spare time. She was soft spoken and loved her 6 children & great "grands."She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Charles William Pressley in the year 1948.
Myrtle worked as a Senior Companion in her lifetime. She had one thing that would upset her and that was someone messing with her children or "grands. " She would show you the mother and grandmother side of her.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her father Will McLean, her mother Hester McLean, her husband Charles Pressley, her daughter Kathleen Watson, and her brothers Fred McLean, Moses McLean, Hall McLean, Prince McLean and Ernest McLean. Also her sisters Daisey Jones, Mattie Malby & Lillian Brown. Her sister-in-laws Virginia McLean, Eula Frazier and Louise Brachex. She is survived by her children Mary Louise Pearsall (Rudolph), Shirley Ann Harris (David), Rebecca Jean Pressley (Francis), Rodise Pressley (Bartola), 1 son Solomon Rubin Pressley, 15 grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren also a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A very special friend Henrietta Fulton Pettyjohn-Mann also survives her.
Funeral service 1 pm, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church, 137024 Old State Road, Ellendale, DE 19941, friend may gather for viewing beginning at 12 Noon. Interment services 2 pm, Monday, November 21, 2016 at Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
