Michael D Kimbro

Michael (“Mike”) Dale Kimbro, age 66, of Wyoming, Delaware, passed away after a battle with cancer on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in the comfort of his home. Mike was born in Greensboro, North Carolina to Roy and Betty (Stanley) Kimbro, and was the eldest of three children.

Mike served in the United States Air Force, settling in the Dover area after serving four years during the Vietnam War; he later owned his own business, and spent the remainder of his career in the banking industry.

Mike loved to live life to it’s fullest; he sang karaoke with gusto, played trumpet in a Doo Wop band, and met his wife Nancy while country line dancing. An avid golfer, Mike could often be found on the greens at Wild Quail, perfecting his game. A fan of all things Disney, Mike happily (and proudly) boasted visiting Disney World more than 10 times with his family. Mike loved children, and delighted in the role of grandfather.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lindsay (Kimbro) Peters. Mike leaves behind his loving wife Nancy (Isaacs), daughter, Tara (Kimbro) and her husband Jeremy Troise, of Lewes; his son, Alex Kimbro, of State College, Pennsylvania; stepson Sean and his wife Lauren Stevens, of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania; stepson Shannon and his wife Lisa Stevens, of Wilmington; and five grandchildren, Vincent and Liam Troise; Lily, Carter and Declan Stevens; brother Dwight Kimbro of North Carolina, and two nephews.

Memorial Service Friday, June 9, 2017, 3 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE Friends may call beginning at 2 pm.
