Michael S. Dixon, 64, of Magnolia passed away while surrounded by his family on October 30, 2017.
Michael faithfully devoted 37 years to the United States Air Force, many of them as a flight engineer. He also enjoyed NASCAR and served part time as a pit official from 1995 to 2004. Outside of duty, Michael loved cooking, baking and serving in his church community. He will be fondly remembered for his devotion to family and friends, joyful banter, and unwavering faith.
Michael is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janie (Reed) Dixon; one son, Adam Michael Dixon of Magnolia; two daughters, Brynn Palmeter and her husband Randall of Magnolia and Laura Shanahan and her husband Justin of West Virginia; his adopted-in-heart daughters Whitney Manning, Hope Bellois and grandson Aidan Turner, and Taylor Johnson and granddaughter Mackenzie Johnson; his mother, Alice Johnson of Corning, NY; three brothers: Larry Dixon of New York, Earl Dixon of South Carolina and Scott Dixon of New York. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Dixon and sisters Mary Catherine Dixon and Julie Ann McCumber.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Calvary Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901 where friends may visit with the family from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
