Maurice "Reece" Elmer Vogts, Jr.

     Maurice "Reece" Elmer Vogts, Jr., 57, of Georgetown passed away on August 28, 2015 at home.

     Mr. Vogts was a partner with Watts Brothers Construction in Lewes for many years.  He was an Early Childhood Educator for Slaughter Neck Day Care for about five years. He had also been a proud member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters where he had served as a Big Brother.  He enjoyed working in the yard and building things, particularly having a love affair with wood.

     Mr. Vogts is survived by his son Nicholas J. Nusbaum and his wife Ashley of Laurel; four sisters: Carolyn V. Murray and her husband Gene Murray of Georgetown, Catherine H. Casey of Georgetown, Thelma Lathem and her husband Danny Lathem of Laurel and Nancy Vogts of Millsboro; two grandchildren, Lucas Nusbaum and Liam Nusbaum; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Mr. Vogts was preceded in death by his parents Nancy Vogts Spiros and Maurice E. Vogts, Sr., and by his brother Leslie Vogts.

     A Celebration of Life will be after 12:00 Noon Sunday September 6, 2015 at the family’s residence, 17647 McColleys Chapel Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
