Margaret Demby

Margaret D. Demby “Aunt Margaret” went home to be the Lord on Thursday August 10, 2017. She lived 87 great years.

Born on May 2, 1930 in Kenton, DE daughter of the late Alfred and Helen Daniels. She graduated from James H. Groves High School.

She retired from Playtex Products Inc with 30 years of service. Margaret was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God where she was a member for over 60 years and held various positions. She loved reading, writing poems, completing crossword puzzles, watching her favorite TV shows and walking around stores.

Aunt Margaret loved her family and always had a listening ear and great advice. She helped raised a lot of members in her family and treated their friends as family too. She is known to many just as “Aunt Margaret”.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her sisters Lydia Daniels and Francis Delores Short. Her husband Charles A. Demby.

She is survived by two brothers Alfred Daniels Jr. and Isaac(Ivy)Daniels. Four sisters Grace Hansley, Blanch Brown, and Barbara Daniels.

Sisters and brother in law Jean Sudler, Joan Foster, Joyce Lewis, Diane Dabney and Claude Dabney. A step son Kennard Winchester. A close friend Mother Anna Washington.

Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Including those she helped raised N. Andrei Jones, Margaret “Pepe” (Raymond) LaSalle-Tate, Henry Short , LaCora(Kyle) Cephas, Andrew LaSalle, Andron LaSalle  and Marquis LaSalle.

    A Homegoing Services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 19, 2017, in Mount Carmel Church of the Living God, 117 N. West St., Dover; where family and friends may view from 11am to 1 pm. Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the church. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
