Major Dave J. "Frogg" Williams, II

     Major Dave J. “Frogg” Williams, II, 71, of Smyrna passed away on July 21, 2017.

     Major Williams had been a security superintendent for the Delaware Department of Corrrections, retiring in 2008 after 36 ½ years of service.  Major Williams had also served in the United States Army and Delaware Army National Guard for 24 years.  He was a member of the Masonic Order of Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall Affiliation. He had been past master of Prudence Lodge #6 in Dover.  Mr. Williams was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Smyrna. Frogg’s hobbies included traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

     Major Williams is survived by his wife of 19 years, Rosemarie (Hill) Williams; four sons: Andre Williams of Dover, Dave J. Williams, III of Texas, Michael Taylor of Dover and Bashir Williams of Dover; one daughter, Dizza Heusner of Smyrna; 22 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  He also leaves to cherish his memory his best friend Wil Justice, numerous family members and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Denny and Ethel (Johnson) Williams, his four brothers: Harry Farrell, Nate Farrell, Linwood Farrell and Denny Williams and by his grandson Malachi Heusner.

     A funeral service will be Noon Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Education and Humanities Theater Building of Delaware State University, 1200 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 where there will be a viewing from 10:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. Saturday morning.  Prudence Masonic Lodge #6 will conduct a Masonic service at 11:45 A.M.  Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
