Mae Florence Neidig Bryant passed peacefully to our Lord on June 10, 2017 after a brief illness.  She had been a resident at Silver Lake Center in Dover since July 2015 and a lifelong local resident.  Mae was the oldest child of William E. Neidig, Sr. and Lillie T. Neidig and born in 1922 on the family farm near Hazlettville, DE.  She is predeceased by her parents and the following siblings: Clifton Neidig, William Neidig, Jr., Edward Neidig, Evelyn Webb and Marion Dill.  Her husband of over 50 years, Daniel G. Bryant passed in 2002.  She is survived by her youngest sister, Joyce Budna and the following nieces and nephews: Carol Webb Currence; Virginia Webb Hitchens; Jean Webb Harmon; Bonnie Webb Baughan; Tommy Webb; Terry Webb Puspoki; Mary Webb Thuresson; Devora Dill Golt; Janine Budna Lewis; Scott Braden; Bruce Neidig; Penny Neidig; Clifton Neidig; William Neidig, III; Donny Neidig; Daniel Neidig and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mae graduated in 1940 from Caesar Rodney High School as a Business major.  She was a member of the National Honor Society and active in sports and other school functions.  Upon graduation, her first job was as a Secretary at the Department of Public Instruction and shortly thereafter she married Daniel G. Bryant of Hazlettville.  Mae was employed at the Department of Public Instruction for a number of years before she changed positions to work as Secretary to Dr. Slaybaugh, Wesley College President and Dr. Parker his predecessor.  She continued in her capacity at Wesley College until she retired in 1975.  She loved working with the college students she met.  Both she and Dan attended various social and sporting events at Wesley and were avid Wesley football fans.  She is a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Educational Sorority.

Dan and Mae enjoyed square dancing and travelled over the East Coast to attend functions and competitions.  They both loved dancing, music and the beach.  Mae was a beloved sister, and aunt, who was always more than willing to help her family in any way she could by sharing her time, talent, and means in a most generous way.  She will be missed.

Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Maranatha Fellowship, 60 Deer Track Lane, Dover, where friends may gather one hour earlier.  Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, DE.
