Karen Elizabeth (Knerr) Troutman, 71, of Frederica, DE was called home to the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2017 surrounded by her family at Kent General Hospital.

Karen was born February 24, 1945 and was raised in Norristown, PA.  She was a 1963 graduate of Norristown High School and received a practical nursing certificate from Sacred Heart Hospital in 1964.  She married the late Gene Troutman in October 1964.  Karen found much satisfaction in serving the Lord with her husband at Camp Innabah, Spring City, PA for 17 years.  Karen was a member of Wyoming Church, Dover, DE, where she loved to serve the Lord.  She was part of the Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Study and Pathway’s Ministry.  She found particular joy in regularly contributing to the bake sales.  Karen has dedicated her life to the Lord.  She was a long standing member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Norristown, PA and New Hanover United Methodist Church, Gilbertsville, PA.  Karen’s pride and joy were raising her three sons.  She enjoyed her garden and looked forward to the Spring blooms every year.  Karen was an avid cook and baker.  When not in the kitchen passing on her baking skills to her grandchildren, she could be found playing board games or puzzles with them. 

Karen is predeceased by her beloved husband, Gene; her parents Charles and Anna (Woodland) Knerr; and her brother William Knerr.  She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her sons Todd, husband to Melinda (Spinden); Gregory, husband to Kristi (Letterer); and John; her brother Philip, husband to Betsy (Rambo); her sister-in-law Paula (Koehler) Knerr; her sister-in-law Nancy (Troutman) Snyder, wife to Leonard; her beloved grandchildren Derek, Kalina, Ruby, Rachel, Roxanne and Charles; and her family and friends in Christ.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Wyoming Church at 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, DE  19904.  Fellowship will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s name to Wyoming Church at the address above or to Camp Innabah at 712 Pughtown Road, Spring City, PA  19475.  Condolences may be offered at www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
