Joseph Ortlip

Joey Ortlip age 56, passed on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Christina Hospital, Newark Delaware.

Joey was born November 1, 1960, in West Chester Pennsylvania, to the late Mary Lou (Brown) and Harry Franklin Ortlip.  He lived in Newark, Delaware.  He was one of seven children, two preceded him in death; Harry (Rock) and Rosemary.  He attended West Chester Henderson High School and began his career at Carlson's Auto Body.  He was known as the Chester Counties best at professional-level custom auto painting.

Joey was married to Michelle Bean, they have a son and a daughter.  Joe was a devout Philadelphia Eagles fan, never missed a game and was a long time season ticket holder in search of a Super Bowl win.  Joey was most known for his smile and always positive outlook.  Joey had a strong love for people and animals.  He was very active in the rescue of animals at any one time he would have 9 or 10 dogs, and birds in his care.  Joey still loved to ride his now classic Harley Davidson he bought in the 1970's.

Joey was always happy, known as loving dad, brother, uncle and pop-pop who always wore an infectious smile and cared for family and friends. He was always there to help and assist.  Whether painting cars, houses or recovering a flooded basement, he was always helping someone.  Always the giver Joey gave to everyone he came in contact with, never wanting anything in return.

Joey leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Michelle, children Mathew and Jessica: two grandchildren, grandson, Christian, granddaughter Chloe, mother-in-law, Linda, his siblings, Patricia Miller, Arlene Chalfant, Michael Ortlip, and Beverly Clymer and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
