Jeffrey Eugene Hunsucker

Jeffrey Eugene Hunsucker of Hartly passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015, in the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, De.  He was 59 years old.Jeff was born, April 23,1956, in Mooresville, North Carolina to Billie Hunsucker, and the late, Mary (Fisher) Hunsucker Morgan. 

He was employed with Proctor & Gamble for 39 years, in Dover, De. 

In his free time Jeff was involved with several activities. He was most well known for playing Santa Claus, along with Mrs.Claus (his wife, Jan) at various holiday parties over the years including Scott Paper, Charlton School, William Henry Handicapped, Exceptional Care for Children, and The Little School.  On Christmas Eve he and Mrs. Claus drove to many friends and family homes to delight many star-eyed children. It was a role that he played and cherished since he was 18 yrs old at Nichols Dept Store in Dover when it all began. Jeff also played softball as catcher for Scott Paper, Condor Chemical, Comcast Cellular One, and a few others through Kent County Parks & Recreation.

Jeff was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles Fan, holding season tickets for 16 years. He and his wife owned an Eagles tailgating bus, affectionately known as “The Bird Bus”.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at barbecues in his home and wouldn’t hesitate to push you in his pool if you weren’t paying attention!  Jeff could fix and build anything, and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 31 years Jan (Klug) Hunsucker; his father Billie Hunsucker of Rantoul, Illinois; a step-son, Army Capt. Tony Lopez stationed in Fort Polk, La.; daughter, Daphne Ravencraft, and a son, Daniel Hunsucker, both of Sulphur, LA.; a sister, Teresa Bell, of Wyoming, DE; a brother, Billie Keith Hunsucker, of Camden, De; three step-brothers, Bill Morgan of Georgetown, Russell “Jr.” Morgan of Seaford and Chris Morgan, of Federalsburg, MD;  six grandchildren, Ashley Delcambre, Ryan Gomez, Candace Stevens, Gavin Lopez, Joshua Lopez, & Daniel Hunsucker; and several nieces & nephews.

     A Memorial Service will be held 11 am, Saturday, August 1, 2015, in Faith Community Church, 2240 South DuPont Highway, Camden, DE.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.  Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com
