James A. Young, Sr., 71, of Felton passed away on July 14, 2016.
Mr. Young had been a meat cutter for the Dover Air Force Base commissary. He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to B.B. King. He enjoyed boxing and his favorite boxer was Muhammed Ali. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Ellendale.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia E. Young; five children: Pamela Young of Wyoming, James Albert Young, Jr. and his wife Stacie of Viola, Shane Young, Sr. and his wife Samantha of Felton, Contessa L. Young of Dover and Kenyetta Young of Felton; four brothers: William “Pops” Young and his wife Stella of Magnolia, Lawrence Young and his wife Marilyn of Frederica, Ronnie Young and his wife Mary of Frederica and Carl Young of Felton; one sister, Gloria White of Frederica; 10 Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church, 600 N. Church Street, Milford, DE 19963 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday. A committal service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19934.
