Hortense Collins, of Smyrna, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 9, 2016, in the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. She was 94.
Hortense was born, March 10, 1922, in Washington, D.C. to the late, Alice(Shockley) Collins & Johnson Stanton Collins, II.
She had worked in the credit department at Sears for many years; and also had served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. Harmon; a son, Charles, and a daughter, Doris; a brother, Johnson S. Collins, III & 2 sisters, Alder Mae Tindley and Doris McCreary.
Hortense is survived by her son, Alfred E. Harmon, Jr., of Spanaway, WA ; a nephew, James Collins, of Camden; grandchildren, Keilen, Keva, Kenric, & Kerwin; Great-grandchildren, Kyree, Kylease, Kherrigan, Dietrich, Justina, Bradley, Breanna & Selena; and great-great-grandchildren, Mahayla, Kingston, Carter, Riley & Ava.
Funeral Services will take place 10 am, Tuesday, October 18, 2016, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may gather from 9 to 10 am.
