George Fredrick Woolford, 73, of Dover departed this life on February 27, 2017.
Mr. Woolford retired from the United Sates Air Force after 20 years of service. Fifteen years later, he retired from Playtex Corporation.
Mr. Woolford was an avid sports participant throughout his life. He played basketball, tennis and golf. He also enjoyed walking, running, biking and fishing.
Mr. Woolford was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. “Denia” Woolford. He is survived by his children: Sharronne Woolford Bryant (Marvin, Jr.), Andrea Woolford Eley (Royce) and Jason Jamaal Woolford; one sister, Shirley Lee Woolford Tittle; one brother, Wallace V. Woolford; and three grandchildren: Marvin Bryant, III, Xavier Christopher Woolford Bryant and Jordan R. Eley. He was preceded in death by his daughter Erica and his brothers, Vincent Harold Hargrove and Richard H. Tittle, Sr.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday. A committal service with full military honors will be at 11:00 A.M.Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
