George E. Pepper

October 28, 1929 ~ December 4, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

MARYDEL   George E. Pepper passed away on December 4, 2017.

He was born October 28, 1929 to Granville and Marion Pepper.

He graduated from Dover High School in 1949 and served his country proudly in the US Army.

He was united in marriage to Louise Meredieth on August 1, 1950.  To this union, they welcomed two daughters, Diane Pepper Begnoche and Patricia Pepper (Arndt).

George was a carpenter by trade.  He worked for Simpson Lumber, Wilbert Smith, Herman Meyers and Mildre Erly.  He decided to start his own business, George E. Pepper, General Contractors, and was in business 25 years.  Two special places he did work for were the Blue Coat Inn and The Pancake House.

George loved camping and traveling in their motor home.  He had two special projects from wood that was seasoned for a period of time, a grandfather’s clock and a desk.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two daughters, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.  He leaves behind his Wife, Essie Louise Pepper, 1 grandson, Christopher Begnoche of Utah and two brothers, William and Richard.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for George, Hartly Ambulance Club, Delaware Hospice, Arlena Coker, Raul and Stacey Montanez. 

Services will be at noon, Friday, December 8th at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 am.

Flowers are accepted, or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hartly Ambulance Club, 2898 Arthursville Rd., PO Box 28, Hartly, DE 19953, or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
